Serving Set | All Levels | Hand-Building (4-Week Session)

$225.00

This four-week all levels class introduces the core techniques of hand-building with clay: slab construction, coil building, and the pinch-pot method. Students will also learn how to use the slab roller as part of their process.

Each session focuses on a project designed to create a playful, functional serving set for entertaining, which may include:

  • A serving bowl

  • A cheese or charcuterie platter

  • A set of candlestick holders

These projects offer structure and inspiration, but students are always welcome to explore their own creative directions using the techniques introduced. Whether you stick closely to the prompts or take the project in your own direction, your teacher will be there to offer guidance and support throughout.

This class is open to all levels. Beginners will follow the full project, while returning students are encouraged to build on past work or evolve their ideas in new ways.

Spots are limited to 10 per class.

Open studio access is included, with studio hours available 7 days a week so you can continue developing your work outside of class time.

Course format:
4 weekly sessions (2 hours each)

Included with your registration:

• Approximately 12 lbs of clay

• Glazes and firing services (additional fees apply for pieces larger than 6” in any direction)

• Studio tools provided during class sessions

• Access to open studio time for practice between classes

Tool Policy Update:

Due to recent changes in import taxes, we are no longer able to offer a free set of tools with class registration. Tools will still be available for use during class sessions, but not during open studio hours. We offer quality tool kits for sale at the studio, or students may bring their own tools purchased from an art supply store or online.

Open Studio Hours:

Monday–Sunday, 9am–9pm

(excluding class times and a 1-hour closure before and after each class)

What to bring:

Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and closed-toe shoes.

Students are encouraged to bring their own apron and hand towel.

Age requirement:

This class is designed for adults. Minors ages 14–17 are welcome to participate with parent or guardian permission. A waiver must be signed in person by a parent or legal guardian on the first day of class during check-in.
