Private Events at Makers & Clay
We offer private pottery workshops for all experience levels, with two creative formats to choose from:
Wheel Throwing introduces participants to the basics of throwing clay on the pottery wheel. We guide your group through each step of the process in a fun, hands-on session that often comes with plenty of laughs and lighthearted challenges. It’s a memorable, experiential activity—perfect for groups looking to try something new together.
Handbuilding workshops focus on creating functional or decorative pieces—like mugs, vases, trays, and a variety of seasonal or sculptural projects. These sessions move at a relaxed pace and allow for lots of individual expression, making them a great choice for groups looking to connect creatively.
Private events are open to participants ages 9 and up.
Finished pieces will be ready for pickup approximately 6–8 weeks after your event.

Why Choose Wheel Throwing: Designed as an experiential event, wheel throwing is an exciting hands-on activity. While it's more challenging and requires some hand dexterity and ability to sit & lean over a pottery wheel for the majority of the session, our instructors guide participants through each step of the process. Most beginners (90%) create two successful pieces in the shape of cups, bowls, &/or cylinders. The final results are in your hands—literally—but the experience itself is rewarding and fun!
