Thank you for choosing Makers & Clay for your ceramics experience! We’re excited to host you and your guests. To help the event go smoothly, please review the information below.

1.Agenda

Week 1: Wheel Throwing and studio orientation.
Week 2: Trimming and additional throwing if time permits
Week 3: Review of weeks 1 & 2
Week 4: Glazing
*** 4-week sessions included open studio hours for 1 month starting after the completion of the first session. Open studio hours are Monday through Sunday from 9am-9pm, except when another class is in session. See instructor for more details ***

2.Arrival Time

We recommend guests arrive 15 minutes early to ensure a timely start and the full enjoyment of the activities.

3.Dress Code

Wear comfortable clothing that can get messy, and please wear closed-toed shoes for safety. For wheel throwing, tie back long hair, remove loose jewelry, and we recommend keeping nails short. Guests are welcome to bring their own aprons and towels. Don’t worry—clay washes out.

4.Studio Environment & Safety

Makers & Clay is an active ceramic arts studio with members and students working on their projects. To maintain a safe and respectful space, only registered participants, with the exception of approved chaperones, are allowed in the studio during the event. Please keep noise to a reasonable level. Be mindful of surroundings, as pieces may appear sturdy but are often fragile. Refrain from touching or moving others’ work. Children must be supervised at all times. No running or rough activities are allowed.

5.Finished Pieces

Finished pieces will be ready for pickup between 1-4 weeks after final session (depends on timing of the kilns, most pieces are ready within 2 weeks of the final session.)

6.Parking Information

Please check posted signs for 90-minute, 3-hour, and 8-hour parking regulations. There are three free public parking lots around the studio located at:

  1. The corner of E. Lime and S. Ivy Avenues

  2. E. Palm Ave. between S. Myrtle and S. Ivy Avenues

  3. E. Lime Ave. between S. Ivy Ave. and S. Canyon Blvd.

7.Payment & Bookings

Private lessons require advance payment. Once payment is made, we will confirm your session times.

8.Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made more than 72 hours prior to the first session will receive a full refund. Those made within 72 hours will receive a studio credit, minus a $150 cancellation fee. Cancellations after the start of a session will receive a prorated refund in the form of a studio credit, the amount will be based on our private lesson fee chart and the total hours/participants completed. No shows after the event start time will not receive a refund or studio credit for that day’s session.
