Kids Pottery Classes & Workshops

Creativity flourishes when kids have the space to explore, play, and get their hands in the clay! At Makers & Clay, young artists can experience the joy of ceramics—through both one-time pottery workshops and multi-day camps designed to build confidence and spark imagination.

What’s Happening Now

Join us this November for our seasonal one-time workshops — perfect for kids who love hands-on projects and holiday creativity!

One-Time Snowman MakingWednesday, November 5th, 2:30–5:00pm
Make your own set of ceramic snowmen (or snow-people, if you prefer!)—each one shaped and finished in your own style to brighten the season.

One-Time Holiday Tree MakingWednesday, November 12th, 2:30–5:00pm
Create a set of ceramic holiday trees, including one large enough to fit over a tealight for a cozy glow. For safety, we recommend using a battery-powered tealight.

One-Time Holiday Tree MakingWednesday, November 19th, 2:30–5:00pm
A second date added due to popular demand! Shape, carve, and decorate your own ceramic trees—perfect for gifting or displaying during the holidays. Please use a battery-powered tealight for safety.

• Please arrive 15 minutes early for check-in.
• A parent or guardian must sign in at drop-off by scanning a QR code using a smartphone, which includes completing a short liability waiver before class begins.
All materials and tools are provided.
• Clothes that can get a little messy are best—clay washes out of clothes easily.
• Kids are welcome to bring their drinks and snacks.
• Kids are welcome to bring their own apron.
Closed-toe shoes are required for safety, and long hair must be tied back for any wheel throwing classes.

General Information About Our Kids Classes

4-Week Kids Pottery Camps (Returning early next year!)

Our multi-day pottery camps offer an immersive introduction to the world of ceramics. Over the course of four days, kids learn essential pottery skills including wheel throwing, hand-building, and surface decorating techniques. They’ll explore everything from centering clay and shaping vessels to carving and glazing.

Each camp runs for 2.5 hours per day in small groups, ensuring lots of personal guidance from our supportive instructors. All materials are provided—just wear clothes that can get messy, closed-toe shoes, and have long hair tied back. Camps are a great way for kids to gain confidence, develop coordination, and express their creativity through clay.

One-Time Kids Workshops

Our one-time workshops are perfect for kids who want to experience pottery without a long-term commitment. Each session focuses on a specific project—like our popular Holiday Trees Workshop or Snowman Workshop—where kids can shape, decorate, and personalize their own creations.

These project-based classes are great for siblings, friends, or anyone looking for a creative afternoon. Workshops begin seasonally, and spots fill quickly—so check back often for new projects throughout the year.

Whether your child wants to dive deep into pottery or just spend a fun afternoon creating something special, we have something for everyone.
